Josh, Magen and I traveled up to Ruidoso this last weekend for a New Years wedding and some time in the mountains. Poor Josh got food poisoning the night before we left and was sick all day the first day. I thought that he surely had the stomach flu and so Magen and I went to the casino on New Years Eve to win the $90,000 in the penny slot machines without him. I think I spent $11 in about 10 minutes and she spent $5 in about 1. We left the casino, very sad that we didn’t win the $90,000. The next day was the wedding (which I will blog tomorrow) at the Spencer Theater, and the last day was the fun day. We started off by going to the Hubbard Museum which had a ton of old Western setups and cool things about horses! Right up my alley!

Riding a fake horse in the museum.

Magen and her chicks and bunnies in the old west.
We then went to Bonita Lake where Magen and I went risking our lives as we “skated” on the frozen lake in our tennis shoes. Josh kept a watchful, worried eye on us from the lookout point. It was super fun. I tried to dive onto my stomach and slide… I didn’t go anywhere.

The last thing we planned on doing was going to the new tubing area that Ruidoso made. There was about 1000 people in line and so we decided to drive up to Ski Apache and hike… in 3 ft. of snow.

Apparently I walk crooked because in this small trail that people had blazed for us was only about 2 feet of breathing room before you would sink into snow up to your thigh. It was exhausting to walk so off balance and keep falling in, so I decided to walk on all fours. I didn’t cave the snow in this way. It sure was funny!

Josh kept pushing me down. He thought that was funny.
