So in my attempt to start building my kids portfolio I called up my sis-in-law, Marla, and asked if she could bring Jonah to me for a few fun ideas that I had. Well since I’m so used to working with hardy adults and seniors who will brave any weather for a good shot, I learned my first lesson in my children’s photography journey.
Lesson #1- Reschedule if the windchill is in the 20’s.
Lesson learned. We rescheduled the session after these funny photos…

This morning started pretty early for me and even earlier for Josh. Luckily, but not luckily for Josh, I’m a super heavy sleeper. I can fall asleep in any situation, light or dark. I heard commotion in the house at 6 AM, and I think the last time I woke up that early was for a flight to Love Affair last year, and let me tell you it did come early! Today was extra busy and here are the things that Josh and I did with the kids today: went to Legacy Play Village, colored with sidewalk chalk, watched a movie, played Candy Land, read books, played with balls, played with Meridian, ran around the front yard, hide and seek, rode the horse, played in dirt, drove tractors, read more books and finally went to bed. I feel like it’s 12 AM right now. It has been fun and exhausting. Here are more pictures…

Jonah loved giving Rev treats. We just moved Rev to Mom and Tim’s farm this weekend and he is being a bit mistreated by the other horses, and Jonah was a welcome friend to Rev.
Jonah did feed him a few too many peppermint treats and this was Rev’s reaction…

Buds.

Sidewalk chalk fun with Auntie.

We walked Rev all over 30 acres with the kids on him, and just want to say that he is a pretty good horse.

Jonah and River brushing Rev after a long ride.

The giant dirt mounds from Tim’s new driveways into the farm. It was a fun place for a bunch of boys (and me too! I just need a little extra lotion tonight, that’s all).

When my brother and his family came into town over Christmas they needed a quick family session with their 5 month old new precious girl, Jocelyn Eloise. It had snowed a few inches and there was snow everywhere! I took them to a field and put them on my barcelona chair for a few quick pictures. Here is Chris, Jenice, Jackson and Jocelyn.

Last weekend Josh and I flew to Houston to photograph a wedding near Katy. We got to stay with my cousins, Zach and Carley, and photographed their kids. It was such a fun weekend.

Wanted to post a shot of Josh’s sister’s family from last night. We had a lovely night of movie watching and stew eatin’!

Meet Brandon, Angela, Chandler, Chelsea, Courtlan, Channing, Chisholm and Coleman Shields. The easiest family ever!

Do you remember my first maternity shoot a few months ago? Well I think I had magic in my camera that night because the next day Loren had Wade! Here are his 3 month pictures. I haven’t photographed an infant this young in 3 years, so don’t judge:)

My best friend’s kiddos.

“Don’t smile Elijah! Don’t you smile!”- me. “No, he really won’t smile if you tell him not to.”- Aimee.

Last night I had the fun opportunity to meet Hannah and her parents. Hannah is full of life and was so easy to connect with. I’m getting closer and closer to saying I’ll do family sessions any day of the week! These have been really fun lately!

I met Sally this February when I photographed her sister’s wedding. Sally is a photographer in Midland, Texas and also booked a Brainwash and a family session with me, she and her husband are so nice and her kids are soooooo beautiful. I had a lot of fun, and maybe , just maybe will get into photographing kids more! (Did I mention, maybe?)
