Ruidoso Vacation

Josh, Magen and I traveled up to Ruidoso this last weekend for a New Years wedding and some time in the mountains. Poor Josh got food poisoning the night before we left and was sick all day the first day. I thought that he surely had the stomach flu and so Magen and I went to the casino on New Years Eve to win the $90,000 in the penny slot machines without him. I think I spent $11 in about 10 minutes and she spent $5 in about 1. We left the casino, very sad that we didn’t win the $90,000.  The next day was the wedding (which I will blog tomorrow) at the Spencer Theater, and the last day was the fun day. We started off by going to the Hubbard Museum which had a ton of old Western setups and cool things about horses! Right up my alley!

Riding a fake horse in the museum.

Magen and her chicks and bunnies in the old west.

We then went to Bonita Lake where Magen and I went risking our lives as we “skated” on the frozen lake in our tennis shoes. Josh kept a watchful, worried eye on us from the lookout point. It was super fun. I tried to dive onto my stomach and slide… I didn’t go anywhere.

The last thing we planned on doing was going to the new tubing area that Ruidoso made. There was about 1000 people in line and so we decided to drive up to Ski Apache and hike… in 3 ft. of snow.

Apparently I walk crooked because in this small trail that people had blazed for us was only about 2 feet of breathing room before you would sink into snow up to your thigh. It was exhausting to walk so off balance and keep falling in, so I decided to walk on all fours. I didn’t cave the snow in this way. It sure was funny!

Josh kept pushing me down. He thought that was funny.

Lee Family

When my brother and his family came into town over Christmas they needed a quick family session with their 5 month old new precious girl, Jocelyn Eloise. It had snowed a few inches and there was snow everywhere! I took them to a field and put them on my barcelona chair for a few quick pictures. Here is Chris, Jenice, Jackson and Jocelyn.

UNO DVD Testimonial

Just in from an email…

“ I just wanted to write a quick THANK YOU for coming out with Uno!  It is fantastic!!  I purchased it before Christmas and didn’t have a chance to view it until last night and I was blown away!  It was just the simple tutorial that I needed!  I stayed up WAY too late playing with my photos, using the new techniques.

Thank you for taking the time to create it and share it with all of us!

God’s many blessings to you!!

Rev is hairy and more updates…

Look how hairy my sweet horse is now compared to September! This is a strange sight when I was photographing Erin and Kris at the horse farm a few weeks ago. I walked up and didn’t see my horse. I was a little worried that someone had taken him and then as we got closer I saw that he was hiding behind his blanket lying on the ground. At first I thought he had choliced. We walked into the pen and he still was lying there. Kris went up and started petting him and he still stayed there. Finally I kissed a few times and he got up. I have never seen him so relaxed! This is Rev’s last 2 full weeks at the Coyote Run Ranch before I move him onto Tim’s land and let him run free on 40 acres! YAY!

We are still showing our house. I hope to be able to sell it this month. These 2 winter months are our slowest and when March comes around I’m practically not even human I’m so busy. I hope we can pack up and settle into a rent house before then! Coldwell Banker’s 40 realtors are coming by for a tour today. I hope someone has a buyer for me! We almost had a bite but I guess the colors were a bit much for them.

Our trip to Ruidoso was fun. Funny pictures from that trip coming tonight!

I have been buying quite a few books lately on outdoor living spaces and gardening. Any gardeners out there? When we move this summer I want to start preparing some compost and getting a half acre ready for a veggie garden!

I ordered this once I saw it on my FAVORITE BLOG and just love it. This is a hip way to display your family tree from My Tree & Me.

Kris and Erin for Alison’s Brainwash

This post is a long time coming. Alison attended Love Affair in Atlanta this last summer and she was actually the first girl we met. She was out by the pool when all of us went out jumped in the cold waters and were talking about how nervous we were about speaking that night! Love Affair is such a blessing in my life and we were so overwhelmed with how good everything was going that we had a pool night and started giving away prizes to the person who could perform a certain pool stunt or contest. The prizes kept getting bigger and bigger until finally we all huddled up and Kelly announced that the ladies outside the pool had better get in because the prizes were about to get REALLY good. A few ladies stripped down into their undies and jumped in. That was it. No one else could get in for these prizes, and Kelly announced that I had just dropped 4 quarters in the pool and each lady that found one would get a FREE Brainwash with one of us! It was one of the most exciting moments at Love Affair. Those ladies dove in and I think that Alison might have been the first or second person to find a quarter. She traveled down with her cute dog, Daisy, for her free Brainwash 2 weeks ago and here are some pictures from the sessions!
